metaPanda is an emotionally responsive companion that can convey closeness, security and calm. As an interactive companion animal, it can support seniors and people with dementia through gentle interaction, soothing rituals and a warm, comforting experience.

Inspired by a five-month-old giant panda cub and based on over 200 hours of behavioural study of real pandas, metaPanda displays authentic movements, expressions and forms of expression.

Its bionic, hypoallergenic synthetic fur feels exceptionally soft and invites stroking and hugging. When picked up, it nestles in, wraps its arms around the user, and lets them feel a gentle heartbeat.

Like other interactive companion animals, metaPanda can serve as a complementary tool within a holistic care approach to encourage communication, evoke memories, and contribute to emotional wellbeing. It does not replace human care and attention, but it can support relationship-building and be experienced by many users as an enrichment of everyday life.
