Notice Regarding the Battery Act

In connection with the sale of batteries or rechargeable batteries, or devices operated with batteries or rechargeable batteries, we are obliged as a retailer under the German Battery Act (BattG) to inform you of the following:

Used batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. Consumers are legally required to take batteries to an appropriate collection point provided by retailers or local authorities. Disposal is free of charge for you. You may also return used batteries to us after use. In all cases, batteries or rechargeable batteries returned to us must be sent with sufficient postage.

The following symbols can be found on batteries containing hazardous substances:

  • The crossed-out wheeled bin means:
    Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
  • Pb = Battery contains lead
  • Cd = Battery contains cadmium
  • Hg = Battery contains mercury
